Meet the Maker: Stamp Custom Design & Print Shop
Meet Eric! He is the owner of Stamp Custom Design & Print Shop, located in downtown Auburn, AL. Eric is an Auburn University alumni and has been serving the Auburn community for over 20 years. His business offers a wide variety of unique, custom and hand crafted items.
What led you to start your business?
I was a student at Auburn University and a friend and I were looking to make some cool t-shirts to wear to a concert. The business continued to blossom from there on. I bought a press and started selling t-shirts out of Southernman Designs which was previously where our store is located and eventually took over the business.
How did you come up with your business name? The business name was originally Tigear. A friend of mine who was helping redesign the store taught an Interior Design course at Auburn University. The class selected the new business name and it just so happens to be my last name.
Tell us about your products/merchandise Stamp is a custom design and print shop. We mostly print custom t-shirts but can customize almost anything! We sell our own Auburn University designs and original apparel.
Where all do you currently sell? Our storefront is located in downtown Auburn at 115 N College Street. The store is temporarily closed due to ongoing renovations but customers can continue shopping online, at Lulu's Bakery and at The Maker and Merchant.
What has been your biggest success?
My employees. I have been privileged over the years to see so many of my employees, who are often Auburn High School and Auburn University students, grow, learn and make lasting friendships.
What is your favorite part about owning a small business?
Being my own boss is nice and I get to bring my dog Anabell to work with me everyday. I enjoy working with customers to help make their ideas a reality.
